After mistakenly letting people buy prohibited guns, RCMP tells owners to give them up

The RCMP is trying to get 114 prohibited handguns out of circulation after mistakenly granting permits to 1,356 people, and then failing to notice the error for twelve years. Critics say it should make MPs reluctant to put the RCMP, rather than Parliament or cabinet, in charge of firearms classification.
